Providing Effective Feedback

When do most people find out how they are really doing on the job? Unfortunately they don’t. Most organizations do an inadequate job of providing meaningful and helpful feedback to their employees, whether it is positive or negative. In most instances, managers do not look forward to approaching employees about job performance problems – yet few tasks are more vitally important if a company is to succeed.

There are many reasons why organizations fail at developing employees. Some of the most common include: relying on once a year performance evaluations to resolve issues that arise throughout the year, they lack the skills, they don’t view it as a priority, they lack accountability, and the list goes on and on. In this program, learn how to feel comfortable initiating and conducting staff development sessions. Also, learn how to empower people to become more productive, effective and committed to improving for themselves and the organization.

Learning objectives of this workshop include:

  • Understanding the role of a coach/feedback provider
  • The importance of developing a common understanding of what is meant by coaching and feedback for the organization
  • Relating coaching and feedback skills and understanding how they relate to the employee development process
  • Communicating effectively with reactions to feedback
  • Increasing job satisfaction and work output
  • Learning how to be proactive versus reactive

Benefits for workshop participants are:

  • Enabling employees to meet and exceed performance standards through effective feedback
  • Decreasing the time it takes individuals and teams to perform successfully in a changing environment
  • Developing their skills as a manager by increasing the range of skills available to improve employee productivity
  • And more…
